Fundamental Information of Maxim Agro
Maxim Agro is a Sole Proprietorship agro-based enterprise, started its nursery business since January 2019 in Jashore. It has four nursery units; There are in Jashore, Meherpur, Chuadanga, and Bogura. Prior to that, the company also engaged in importing and marketing of agricultural equipment such as Seedling tray, Mulching film, Polythene for shed, shed net, channel for door and fencing, zigzag for clipping of net, etc. Maxim Agro started its business by producing different species of vegetable seedlings that are being marketed in different parts of the countries i.e., Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Sunamgonj, Barishal, Bhola, Faridpur, Madaripur, Munshigonj, Pabna, Jashore, Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Natore, Kushtia, Rajbari, Chuadanga, Meherpur, and Jhenaidah district. Simultaneously the company expands its business by producing and marketing of “growing media” produced from coco peat and compost and also supplying imported agricultural equipment to agricultural farms and institutions throughout the country. Its target market mainly concentrates on the lower income level to higher income level farmers, and institutions of which demand for quality seedlings and other agricultural products.
Based on the short success of Maxim Agro, the company obtained a place in the ‘100 Agricultural Technology Atlas’ on 4 February 2021 which was published by the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independent Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) and the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) under five separate ministries have developed 655 high-yielding varieties and 591 technologies since 2009. The 100 most important technologies are included in this atlas. Of these, 75 are government-owned and 25 are privately owned. Maxim Agro is one of the privately owned companies which took place in the elite technology atlas. Currently, Maxim Agro is working with USAID’s Feed the Future, Bangladesh Horticulture Fruits & Non-Food Crops Activity project.
